Auctions America by RM is doing a great job with this event in only their second year at Auburn. It just seems to flow more smoothly throughout the weekend. Last year they only had a short time to get their act together after purchasing the property from Kruse and they did a fantastic job. One thing I like is that all of the unsold lots go to a specific area so you don't have to walk the whole grounds to find the car you are looking for as in the past. The still for sale desk has a big screen running with the status of the unsold cars. You can see easily if a car is still available. Thursday started out hot on the grounds and especially inside the arena building where there was very little air moving. Friday they came to our rescue with numerous large portable A/C units that oscillated blowing a cool breeze over the entire area. What a welcomed relief.

Here are some Mid Years that caught my eye. There were a few resto mods in the sale too but not as many as last year. I may be wrong but I sense the market softening on them.

A few more. There is also a large cruise in around the courthouse square on Friday night of the ACD Festival. I took photos there too and will be posting them when I get them edited. The dark grey '63 looked very nice for a non '63 color. Other than color it was pretty original.

The maroon car with the Americans was a LT1/6speed in the car corral.

OK. You twisted my arm. I'll throw in a few non Corvette photos most will like. The '57 150 has a Ram Jet 350. The green Camaro is a Lingenfelter LS9. The MG has an aluminum Buick. The '65 Malibu SS is a L79.

Two more Camaros.

Today the non numbered cars were still in the mid to late 30s and that was without full engine dress, or stock wheels, plus they may have the wrong hood or incorrect badges, but looked good. Only one that caught my eye was a white C1 of the 1961 vintage for 50 and the owner wanted to talk about it when I showed interest. Prices were very fluid and nothing was for sure until you paid the tab. If I'm going to pay that much for another Corvette it will be a 201X and then only so I will have owned all seven generations.

Good day and 25° cooler than the day before at a huge swap meet.

Tom was still there when we left and I hope he missed the heavy rain storm.

Just got home a little while ago. I walked the for sale area again and also checked out the swap meet. I was talking to some friends in the staging area, which is under roof, when the hard rain hit. We got some home made ice cream and had a good chat while it rained. There was a silver '66 427/425 convert that was a very nice car cross over this afternoon for $71000. Standard small block drivers were in the mid to upper 30s, as Dad said. Better quality small block cars that wouldn't take much to get ready for show were in the 40s. That dark grey '63 coupe sold for $41000. I'm pretty sure that was the price. I didn't have my pen in my pocket. It was a basic small block driver quality car but the paint was new or nearly new and very nice. It just wasn't a '63 color. From the selling price I'm not sure if that hurt it at all. To me it was a fair price for a nice driver that didn't seem to need anything.
