The hardtop for by 65 convertible is in excellent condition other than the glass. The glass is badly spider webbed. I've noted the whopping price to restore these tops. Is replacing glass only also an expensive repair? Who sells the glass?

Thanks,

Bill

I can't tell you the price of replacing the glass, haven't done it or had it done, but the procedure in the shop manual appears quite involved, so my guess is it wouldn't be cheap. The "glass: is available from a hardtop rebuilder:

I think the price is about $350 for backglass, $30 each for side.

Another source for parts or restoration of hardtops:

Shad's Restorations, 508-795-7658

You might also check with Chevy, it's possible the glass is still available through them.

Don't know about a C-1 which WayneC is apparently talking about, but in a '65 C-2 it's not a big deal. I replaced mine, no major problems. And since you have no side glass in yours, you won't have that to contend with.
