Help! C2 Holley Carb Replacement

I'm replacing an original Holley 2818 carb on a 1964 327/365hp with a new Holley 1850. The only installation problem I have is that there is no allowance on the new carb for the rubber line that runs from the oil filler tube to the drivers side of the original carb. I know this allows for recirculation but how do I retro fit this? Or is it necessary at all? There is a vacuum port at the back of the new carb but the inlet is larger than the original. I would prefer to keep everything looking original if possible.

Only the original 2818's had the orifice and elbow on the driver's side for the crankcase ventilation system. There are two ways to restore functionality of the PCV system using an 1850.

1. Use a 3/8" hose from the nipple on the oil fill tube to the 3/8" nipple on the base of the 1850, using an in-line PCV valve in the hose.

2. Use a '66-'67 oil fill tube, which has a threaded bung instead of just a nipple. The '66-'67 screw-in PCV valve (#CV-726C) threads into the bung, and a 3/8" hose runs from there to the 3/8" nipple on the carb base. Use a black spring clamp at both ends of the hose. Photo below shows this setup, same as '66-'67 production.

Another question I have that you may be able to help with. I'd like to change the original air filter on the 64 to a less restrictive aftermarket one but I'm unsure what would fit under the hood due to tight clearance and hook up of original attachments, especially the vent tube. K&N makes a filter top called X-Stream Air Flow but the 14" diameter appears to be about 1/2 inch short to match up to the original base. Any suggestions?

There's nothing restrictive about the original '64-'65 327/365hp air cleaner; it'll pass more air than the engine will ever need, and its all-chrome appearance is a classic.
