I am in the process of restoring a 1972 LT-1 roadster. The body has been removed and the mechanical components have been restored. The body is now back in place and I have all the body seams aligned except for the passenger door. The door closes and fits perfectly without the striker in place, but when the striker bolt is installed, the door does not fully close. I need an additional 1/8 inch of adjustment of the striker, but I am out of adjustment of the striker captive nut assembly. The latch mechanism has been removed, inspected, cleaned, lubed and re-installed, but is not adjustable as far as I can see. Any Suggestions???

It sounds like you have the striker too far in and catching on the just the safety lock.

You hit that one out of the park, Mike! I ran out to the garage and made that adjustment ( which is counter intuitive ), and... perfectamundo!!! Thanks for your help.
