GOOD LORD!!!

So I was trying to pull out my speedometer and I started looking around.
My fuse box has been mickey moused. There are a million and a half wires floating around down there.
Can anyone help me out and post a picture of the fuse box to a 79 L-82 or comparable VETTE.
Or can someone help diagnose my wiring if I send a picture?

(VIGMAN... hint hint)

I have the shop manual here at home and there are no less than 25 pages of diagrams on the fuse block...i don't relish scanning that many pages and putting them on my server can you be more specific in what area of the fuse block concerns you most... If you are going to do this yourself, I can take time tomorrow and scan and send the diagrams to your e-mail if you like.

WOW!!! 25 pages just of the fuse block... I plan on doing this myself.
If I take a picture of my fuse block can I send it to you for your input?

Do you happen to have a picture of what a "normal" block looks like?

Thanks in advance

I have the assembly manual, all tech manuls, all diagrams and the parts store manuals, used everyone of them to diagnose wires and problems, the more litetature you can get the better, hopefully it is all color coded and not rewired. Take it one branch at a time.

I also have the 1979 chevrolet passenger car wiring diagram manual. It has 4 pgs. of circuit numbers, color, name and 10 pgs of diagrams for the corvette.
Also have the corvette in the garage.
VETTECHICK knows much more about this than I do but if either of you want to check reference anything let me know.
happy tracing,
john

After further investigation,I found that someone had monkeyed around in there cutting and adding options over the years .The owners insurance is paying for it luckily.

paintdaddy -- The owners insurance is paying for it luckily.

Just wait until I post a picture of mine.
You will be happy with what youve got.

And how or why is the owners insurance paying for the replacement wiring harness?

paintdaddy -- He had full coverage and it caught fire while he was driving it

I deal with a lot of salvage cars... and I always come across C3's that are engine burns.
Is there a weak spot in the car, or harness that causes this?

paintdaddy -- I think its just alot of bubbas out there

No seriously!!!
The most cars I see that have engine burns are the 92-96 MAZDA RX7.
I think number 2 would be the C3 CORVETTE.

Being a C3 owner that kinda frightens me... especially with my wiring all messed up.

I see alot of that too on c3s but I just always blamed it on half azz or cheap owners .Thats agood question because cheap people own all different kinda cars but there are alot of crispy c3s. ;shrug

SCARY!!!

I dont know of too many C3 or RX7 owners that are cheap or lazy.
But then again I have owned both, so I am somewhat impartial

:D :D :D
