Guys some feed back on what camshaft you guys have installed and what results I plan to stay with stock intake and exhaust manifolds and the stock 1800 converter in 400 trans. My cam is shot and looking to use a kit and replace rockers and pushrods also.

The 454 L-S5 has small valves (stock heads) 2.06/ 1.72 I believe. On my 1971 454-LS5 I fitted the original heads with 219/ 1.88 valves, had a minor street port done and used a 220/230 @0.50 - 500 to 525 lift. I could have moved into a 530 or 550 lift also. But I wanted a street cam that was good around the 2500-3000 rpm range. I'm sure others will have suggestion also, but this worked best for what I wanted in performance as a street driver.

Many Thanks

I am going with a 553 lift 113 ls 230 244

I'm using GMPP Sig Series aluminum heads, 110cc chambers, 2.25I & 1.88E valves. Cam is Comp XE 282-S, Duration @ 0.050 244/252. Lift 0.590/0.598, lobe separation 110. Pistons are TRW forged '71 LS-6 replacements.

Those are really nice cars you guys have.
