Here is the step by step process for changing out your battery on your C4. The car used for the demo is a Callaway Aerobody car however, the process is similar for a standard body Corvette :)

As you know, the battery is located under the frame support bar / cruise control behind the front tire on the drivers side.

Next, back out and remove the torx head bolts holding the gill panel to the inner fender skirt. There were three torx 30 bolts and two torx 10 bolts on mine. It is best to turn your tire to reach in for these :)

And here is the new battery going in :)
Carefully reverse the process and fire her up ;)

*****Disclaimer****** My post(s) are for information only and are not to be considered 100% complete as minor steps may have been omitted for clarity. If you do not understand the process, please contact a professional mechanic as your car is out of my control.******* Enjoy :beer

You must have seen my thread on CF :D Youre brave to leave that panel on like that. I remove mine completely, but to do that you have to drop the rocker panel to get to the bottom bolt, if you have a tool set like mine :L ...... PIA

No need to drop the rocker panel

Surf, I just use a thin (with the emphasis on thin) 10mm spanner and slide it between the rocker and the gill panel. It only takes a couple of turns to loosen the bolt sufficiently to remove the panel.

Done it so many times I can almost get on that bottom bolt without looking.

thats the exact process my dad and I had to do when his C4(this was years ago) battery died. we remove the panel completely though.
