1992 - CD player doesn't work, all I get is a grinding noise when a CD is inserted. Does anyone have a diagram of how to take the Bose stereo out of the car for repair? Most of the instructions I've been able to find are unclear as to the procedure and do not include diagrams.

Hi,

The head unit in the dash is seperate from the amp. You need to take the console apart to get the trim off. Then it's a few screws, unplug the harness. If the radio works OK then that's it. Not exactly sure where your amp is, but if the radio works then leave that alone.

When I was doing my stereo I saw that the antenna runs to the rear compartment behind the passenger seat. Thats where your radio tuner actually is. I beleive the head unit is only there to change the stations and play your CD's
