Does anyone use a "C4 EZ Vent" as described on The Corvette Gadget Man's website? I'm trying to find someone who bought it to determine if driving around with the rear hatch open a couple of inches is a good thing or not. Thanks.

Bill

I have the one from Corvette Central, I was at a show that had the gadget man one for sale, and the stick part of it is just that a stick (piece of wood).

Look closely at the pic on his site, you could make that in a few minutes.

I have the kind that uses the roof ratchet, and it works great.

It is nicer driving with the hatch open a bit, it eliminates the buffeting noise, and cools the interior when sitting in the sun.

Thanks Mart, uhm, btw, what do you mean that you have the kind that uses the roof ratchet? Are all the C4's so equipped like that? What I mean, the vent thing wasn't a Chevrolet option or anything like that, was it?

Bill

I've got the Gadget Man's. I love it. Only takes a minute to put on/off. It's also priced right and definately as sturdy as you would ever need.

If you drive around with the hatch propped open, make sure the targa roof is off or else you could be sucking exhaust gases into the car. Never a good thing.

You definitely need positive air pressure inside the car with any type of device that holds the rear hatch open. Driving with the hatch open and windlows closed will cause exhaust gas to enter the car from the open hatch.

If you don't have the targa top off, open the door windows and turn on the heater fan on high.

I use the Gadget Man EZ Vent .... easy to use and what a difference it makes in the car!!

I've used it with the top off and on. Long runs and short runs, all sorts of different speeds, I've never found that there was a problem with CO or any fumes.
