I realize that getting a vette, you are going into this knowing that you are going to give up some ammenities......however. The rear deck glove box in a 1996 has a single box with a false lid screwed down covering the antiskid controller. I have seen kits that show two glove boxes in the back. Does this fit, has anyone out there done it? I wondered does the second box come formed to fit around the antiskid or what?

Early cars had a storage area behind the drivers seat and the ABS controller fit lower in that compartment. After 1992, when ASC was included, the ASC module was added to the ABS module. The FX3 Selective Ride Control option also has the controller in that same compartment.

With those extra items in that compartment, there was jost no room for any sort of storage so the lid was screwed down. It would be next to impossibe to use that space unless you removed all of those components.

And under the removable plastic tray in the box behind the passengers seat you will find the radio reciever ... flopping around like a sumo wrestlers belly .... I always wondered why it was properly fastened.

Not sure why GM decided to move the radio receiver back there! My 92 has the radio receiver under the passenger side dash so I have lots of room in the lower storage compartment!

I have a 93 also. I bought it new so nothing has been added. The radio rec is located in the same place & secured with velcro. It has worked well. If yours is not you might look at others & see how it was installed. Good Luck Ely.

Thanks. I'll do that. I feel so guilty closing up the compartment and just leaving the receiver in that state, velcro would work great!

I got a friend that built in a small (6-pack?) ice chest into his.... he takes his drinking alittle to seriously.

They used velcro on the FX3 controller in the left compartment also. I wonder if they velcro'ed the F45 controller in place on the 96.

In my '96, the right lower compartment has a piece of styrofoam in the bottom, with cutouts for the jack to sit in. Nothing moves around in there.
