C4 seats in a C5?

Has anyone heard of this being done? I am looking to purchase a set of black, 89-93 power/sport seats to swap into my Hardtop. The mid C4 seat, in my opinion, is a superior seat to the current C5 seat. It would seem to me that it would be a strict bolt in, since a C4 seat will bolt into a C3. Anyone?

Now that is an interesting concept, I've never heard of swaps from an earlier generation to a newer generation Corvette; it's always the other way around it seems.

I see no reason they won't swap if the bolt pattern is the same. However, aren't the C5 seats a bit wider and won't that make for more of a gap between the seats and the console and doors? I agree that the C4 seats are very supportive, but they weigh a ton! Are the C5 seats in the same weight category?

What I need to do is get with a 89-93 C4 owner and swap out at the passenger seats and see if the bolt holes line up.

I'm not really positive about this, but didn't the Sport Seats change in 1991, and remained that design/style until 1993?
Then they changed again in 94 to 96.
Just curious if anybody else knows the difference between the design/styles.

I checked my Blackbook and no mention was made until the 94 model year in regards to a change in seats. However, the Sport Seat controls may have been moved between the years 90-93. I wish I had a 90 and a 93 to look at, but I think that was the change you may be thinking of.

Yes, that's what I was thinking of... I don't have a black book right here, but I believe the Sport Seat controls were moved from the outer edge to the inner if I remember correctly.
My 91 and 93 both had the Sport seats, and they were really sharp looking and comfy..... very supportive also.
I really didn't care that much for the look of the 94 - 96 seats... they looked just too wide or something.
I do like the looks of the C5 Sport seats, and the seats in the Z06 look OK.
