Sat in a C6 this past weekend. I'm not impressed with the interior. It looks like all the other new car interiors. The seats look fake almost...not like the leather in the C4. Also they just don't hug you like the seats in the C4...noticed that immeadiately. Smaller inside. The gauges light up upon entering the car and then go out after few minutes if you're just sitting there. The top is thinner and smaller. Any C4 owners drove this car? This one was in a showroom so...just got a chance to look it over only. Really chopped. 53K ... I guess I would feel different if I drove it. For now the C4 is a whole lot more car ... Euro vette???

I thought the interior wasn't too bad but it was a definite improvement over the C5 interior.

I was really surprised at how roomy the C6 interior was. It seemed like someone well north of the 6' mark wouldn't have any problems fitting inside.

The C4 interior is pretty cool. It feels so fighter jet!:D

Robertwav1,

I have been sitting in C6’s every chance I get, haven’t driven one yet. Saturday, I sat in a Sunset Ornage coupe that had a blue tint top. I was surprised at how thin the blue tint top was. It seems much thinner than the clear top on my ’96. I was wondering how much outside noise transfers in. From what I’ve read though, the C6’s are fairly calm inside.

I’ve noticed how good the C4 seats are. When the seats were redesigned by Lear in ’94, I think they got the design right. Personal opinion here... I feel my ’96s seats are more comfortable and supportive than a C5 seat. Look at the C6 seat, then look at the ’94-’96 seat, notice the similarity in the design? C6 seats are further away from the C5 design and closer to the C4 seats.

I sat in a Yellow C6 vert several days ago. It was amazing, it was in the showroom with the top down. I didn’t want to get out of the car. I just sat there and took in the view. I like how looking out over the hood, it resembles the C3 Sharks fender lines. Very nice, recalls the Corvettes past without clobbering you over the head with a retro redo. The C6 is more “mainstream” now, but the designers gave a nod to Corvettes heirtage in the design in sublte ways; like the C3 esuqe fenders.

Appealing to the Euro crowd is a good thing, the more units sold, the better, if anything, the Corvette must survive and to do that it must sell. (which it no doubt will, if I could, I’d buy one in a heartbeat!)

Hopefully a C6 owner will see this thread and tell us their opinion.

Drove a C6 last Fall in Chicago. Salesman was very accomodating. I drove the car for about 1/2 hour on the streets in Chicago. Had driven my C4 to the dealership so I could compare the cars at the same time. Cars were very similar. Acceleration was about the same. C6 was a little quieter inside. I have a pretty open exhaust on mine so that might have explained the difference. Fit and finish on the C6 is exemplary. The C4, C5 and C6 are all very wonderful cars. That is what is great about Corvettes. Pick your favorite. You cannot go wrong!

Owned one for 24 hours.

It was a black/black Z51, 6-speed. I found the seats tiresome to my butt and the car noisier than I had expected inside. I (surprisingly) found the 'Z' ride too nasty on washboard freeways. The revalved Bilsteins are better on my '84 'Z'. My C-4 is also quicker and very comfy. I like to touch buttons, not look and feel about, for a touch screen spot.

Interesting opinions on the C6. I guess if I had the resources I would buy one in a heatbeat also! It would just have to sit next to the C4.

I hear you about the touching buttons thing! I know you're not really supposed to do that while you're driving but I drive a lot so touching buttons is a "feeler" way to change the radio station, the track, the temperature, etc...

I've got 750 miles on mine already. Absolutley THE finest automible I have ever driven.:D

I like the interior of the C6, I think that the car is superior to its predecessor in every way. The interior feels a lot more upscale. I've been going back and forth on my opinion about the exterior styling, I guess it's just one of those cars you have to get used to, but now that it's been out for awhile I really love the lines on the car. It's small and kind of stubby-looking, like a midyear. I don't know about the headlamps, that'll still take some getting used to. In every way the car is better than the marshmallowy, zaftig C5. The c6 is an elegant little car, and I see myself buying one within a couple of years.
