c5c5specialist,

I have a 1999 C5 coupe with 28,050 miles. It has a Delco 72-month professional battery, replaced on August 28, 2000, at 14, 779 miles, after the original battery leaked acid.

After the car is stored for two - three weeks, then started, the milage shows on the DIC (although the DIC is kept blank) and the HUD changes to a different display than I have selected (it changes to display everything).

After reseting the features, they do not change again if I turn off the car and restart it. The change in display only occurs if the car is not started for several weeks. The car is not used as a daily driver, but for long drives (50 - 100 miles), or even longer.

Does this sound like I have an electrical problem, or is it a result of not starting the car for several weeks? When the car starts, it starts "normal" and does not crank slow.

Thanks.

HI there,
It sounds to me, like you have a slight interruption in the electrical circuit.
It is possible that the battery terminals may be slightly loose, or corroded.
I would also check the connections at the fuse block, and the engine.
Many thing can cause the issue, however, it is usually always a voltage drop out of somekind.
Allthebest, c4c5:hb
