C5 Bras

I noticed several C5 Corvettes in Carlisle this year with stretchy black bras made of Lycra polyester. The one-piece bra doesn't have any openings for driving lights or vents because air goes through it and the driving lights shine though just fine. I'm thinking about getting one for my ‘97, but I'm worried about possible vibration damage from the bra, leaving scuffmarks on the paint. Every time I used a bra on my ‘82 I had to remove scuffmarks along the front end, even though the bra was felt-lined.

Does anyone have one of these new bras and can tell me how it works for them? Thanks for the info.

I have one of the c-5 creations car bras. They do leave scuff marks on the paint. My car is white and I had to get the GM bra. It's cheap and fits fine. Les

Hi All,
I recently purchased our second vette. Now my 81 stays in the garage and our 99 C5 is a daily driver. It is in great shape and I wanted to keep it that way. We recently had a guest speaker at our corvette club meeting showing the ultra-shield invisible bra.
It is a clear membrane custom cut for each model of vehicle. It covers the whole front end including headlight covers and mirrors. It is thicker than the "cleartastic membrane available elsewhere. It isn't cheap (approx $500) but it is permanent and almost invisible (at certain light angles you can see the end line). Check out the website at www.ultrashieldusa.com .
