2001 Coupe QuickSilver A4
Finally had time to GTech my new (to me) 2001 QuickSilver coupe.
Here's my numbers -
2001 VETTE 12/29/05 53F
FULL TANK
3115+220me+135gas=3470lbs total
0-60 Qtr Mile time & speed
5.07 13.39 110.3 w/ traction on
the following two w/o traction control, in 'competitive mode'
xxxx 13.46 111.2 (missed the 0-60 time on this one)
5.09 13.53 108.0
How do these compare with other C5s? (Not Z06s!)
Also, what's the best method for launching an automatic?
On my other cars (w/o anywhere near the HP of the vette) I've always 'power braked' them to launch but I'm afraid all I'd get is major burnout on this vette.
Thanks! & Save the Wave! Doc

With my stock 2002 A4 and 3.15 rear ratio (only mod was the Z06 airbox lid), I was able to get consistent 13.3x
powerbraking at 1300rpm.

I wouldn't, though, brag about those G-Tech numbers BEFORE going to the track (and proving it). I've never met anyone that was able to duplicate the times they got on those devices.

Nice #s :_rock Do you have 2.73s or 3.15s in the rear? Have fun out there!

MIne has the 3.15 rearend also. Is there a way to calibrate the GTech device? I don't think there's a strip any where near here...
Thanks, Doc

My mustang runs faster at the track than the Gtech states. Never run it on the vette though. MPH is usually 1 or 2 high from what I have noticed and the ET is a little worse than it should be.

don't let me sound like I'm bashing the G-Tech or other similar devices.
They're great for street practice and doing A-B comparisons (before mod - after mod).

Though, I've run into too many Mustang and import owners bragging about a (too good to be true) 1/4 mile time... only to find out later they've never ran at the track. The times they were bragging about were from one of these in-car devices.

I agree. Track times are the only postable times but the gtech are good tools to check mods and give you a general idea !
