Just wondering what oil filter you recommend for your your C5 Corvette. I use the double wall DW2001C5 by Super Race Industries. This one offers the best protection under extreme conditions ranging from cruise nights right through to car shows. Also recommended for most garage queens (long storage can be rough on engines too you know).

Remo, I really didn't care, I just wanted an excuse to rub it in... I've been cruising three days this month with the top off!!!! That offers protection by keeping the oil stirred :L Have hope, man, Spring will come and you will cruise again.

Thanks Jim -I'm looking forward to spring. And for being such a good guy I'll let you in on something. There's a hidden trick in the selections offered on the pole.

:W Oh, my... not again.

It means, Remo, that we've gone down this road before as one of your winter "Corvette Acute Separation Anxiety" (CASA) threads before, and Guy knows it. Your CASA is not necessarily our CASA, amigo. ;)

I'll be watching this thread, and adjusting your meds accordingly...

Patrick,

This time the thread is real. And seriously - you should convert over to those Super Race DW2001C5 filters. As they say out here - it "wicked" cleans your oil.

I'm afraid to vote and step into your trap! Whatever it is...
I think the last time I changed my oil it was with Mobil 1 filter, but I don't remember the number...it was over a year ago!!! :eek :Buttslap

Next time it hits 60 here, I'll change it. No, really. Shouldn't be but a week or two from now :D

It's been over 60 here in the WNC Mountains for a week during the Day, Tammy!!:upthumbs junk!!

No, I think Remo is being seriously..Lets give him the benefit of the doubt.

So Remo please tell us why Super Race DW2001C5 filters is superior to all of the oil filters you listed in your poll? And please list statistics and performance figures to back up your claim.
Don’t forget coast and reliability in there also.

Could you graph it on an X and Y graph?

HI there,
Under independent testing, the ACDelco has the most consistant filtration over the life of the filter, not to clog, but yet filter down to 10 microns.
And, they are readily available at most autoparts stores.
Storage has no bearing on a filter because it is totally impervious to chemical reactions that occur in oil while sitting. Oil moisture content is what you would be concerned with.
Allthebest, c4c5

Leon - you win the enormous prize for discovering the PF44/PF46 trick. I know a couple of guys in the Melbourne area. They'll be by to see you.
:w

DakotaKid or CoolHandLuke or whatever your real screen name is. X/Y this:L

C4C5 - hey Paul, lighten up - it's mostly a joke. Yeah the AC Delco's are good but don't discount those DW2001C5 Super Race filters. I'm sure all the guys that "think" they're racers will be migrating.

Tammy - bo-ho-ho:cry 60 degrees. I hope you can survive that extreme climate. For gods sake - take it to the dealer and have them change the oil then invoice me.

I drove mine to work last night and got caught in the rain this morning;LOL

rain and its supposed to be in the 40's in January in Ohio this week. I'll do my next oil change when I get to 95,000 miles;)

I'm using the Delco PF46 filter, that replaced the Delco PF44. I change the oil and filter every 2,500 miles.

Tom - that might be borderline obsessive compulsive but no question you've got "wicked" clean oil.
