Okay, I want to through a curve ball. 2003 convertible 50th anniversary with rear window defrost. On the left side (drivers) there is a black wire that comes out of the harness behind the shoulder belt and connects to the male adapter on the glass for the rear window defrost, which is the ground wire and on the right side (passenger) there is a color wire behind the shoulder belt, which is the hot wire. Both of these wires are wrapped up with all the other factory wires in the harness. The problem with the wires for the defrost is that they're too short. They have the factory black plastic clips on the ends, nothing has been cut, but again they are about 6-7 inches too short. The question is; is the harness the same for a coupe and convertibles and the factory supplies extentions for the convertibles because the top retracts? If anyone know the answer or if someone could look at their convertible top and see how the harness is wired for the defrost and let me know I would appreciate it.
Thanks;shrug

Rear Window defrost extension wires for a convertible

Okay

Trying to find the part number(s) for the extension wires for the rear window defrost on the C5 convertible-NOT coupe. Coming out of the main wiring harness behind the shoulder belt plastic trim cover, on the right(passenger side), there is a pink/purple wire and on the left(driver side) there is black wire, which is the ground. The extensions connecting to the rear window defrost are both black, with one end having a male connector and the other end that plugs into the window has a female end. The extension wires are velcroed to the convertible frame. These wires are about 18" long. I went to the local dealer in Orlando, but the counter parts salesman could not determine what the actual part number was from the diagram because GM does not make it clear in the pictures which is coupe and which is convertible. They do give several p/n, but I would like to know before I make an order. I would appreciate any help with this issue.

Thanks
