C5 Resale Values

"Going" for that or "asking" that? Seems high if '99s are selling for $21-$23. Hell, we have a fully-optioned '02 convertible with 3800 miles on it and the best we can do is around $36k.

hmmmmm wonder what I could get for my '04 torch red vert with 3650 miles loaded in mint condition:) ...give me a guesstimate...:D

The price drops worked out really well for me. I was planning on getting a 95 or 96 but when we started pricing, a C5 fit the budget perfectly. In fact, I'm seeing 96 CE's with asking prices higher than some 97-99 cars.

All I know is, I'm driving a C5 now:D.

Ok so whats the skinny on your new Vette...price, milage...details please:)

galves

kingman, maybe in jersey you use galves, and only galves!but here in ny,we use nada, kelley and auction reports as well as condition of vehicle.all of which are higher trade values than galves.

I have a friend in so. Jersey that may be considering a C5. If someone has one for sale, let me kow and I'll forward the info.

It yet amazes me on the pricing of Corvettes, there is no rhyme or reason, why some go high and some lower. I talked with a Dealer/friend of mine and he had two corvettes on his lot he could not sell, they were rather low milage for a C4's any way he took them to the once a year Corvette sale/auction in Ocoee,Fl (pardon if I mispelled the City) any way he sold both of them for $2K more than he was trying to sell them for on his lot. It must be just a matter of timing and/or just finding the right buyers who have buyers waiting. I should have added this event is for dealers only.

When you consider that lots of new 2004 coupes sold in the $34K to $37K range then $26.5K for a 4 year old car is excellent in my book. Try getting $15K for a low-mileage 4 year old Lincoln that sold for $50K. I bought a loaded signature series 5 year old Town Car 3 years ago with 10,000 miles on it (still had the window sticker glue on the back window) for $10,500 and my wife drove it until it hit 50,000 miles and it was still in excellent condition but only brought $3,600 on trade.

The C5 was the first "driver" in Corvette history - reliable, more-roomy, more comfortable. As a result, most of them will get driven into the ground and relatively few will survive long term unless we have another downslide in performance like the mid 1970s when the Corvette got down to a miserable 165hp engine. When you can buy a much better car for far less than a restoration, most people would rather be driving and enjoying the car rather than sweating and working on it.

yes you are a luckly dog. just purchased a 04 vert, loaded to the max, even magnesium wheels, get this... 3,700 miles for 40k. dealers will get stupid money but a private sale is much different. dealers will almost always be selling a payment not the price. p.s. mine came from a dealer.
