C5 Street Series Long Tube Headers: Anyone here have them on their C5?

02 Sensors

Dwayne,

The LG's are great headers. I went with Kooks just because other folks I know had them. One issues that I had was, which is common across all these headers units, was the 02 sensors throwing codes. I wonder if others have had this problem.

Remo - Good Morning! :w

During conversation with LG yesterday they said unless you have a good tune on your Vette after installation you will get 02 sensor codes.

They said it would take a little over 6 hours to install the headers and tune my Vette, it'd sure be nice to get a few days of work at Arlington Assembly...

Just checked the email and clicked this link.

It appears that there has been another great disturbance within The Force. :ohnoes

If JEDDI-1 wasn't still in dry-dock I'd send some links myself! ;LOL;LOL

Now that is SWEET with a capital SW!!!:_rock:_rock:_rock

Dwayne,

While they have the car up and the exhaust off, have them install a tunnel plate to get the chasis more rigid. All it is are about 2 million little bolts around the perimeter of the tunnel plate.

I have the Pro's but from my understanding, the Street's are usually better for <450 or so HP vehicles. I can tell that the car is quicker but it seems like the power was gained on the higher end. I actually ordered the Street's but they were on backorder for a few weeks. After about 3 weeks, LG Motorsports offered to sub the Pro's for the streets so I accepted their offer.

You will really be pleased with the system. It's made for LG by Borla.

Edmond - I'll talk with Anthony about that next week, I plan to ask him about wire protectors and coating per JR's response in the other thread.

I didn't get mine coated, they're stainless so I think they'll be okay.

I just used the stock wire protectors and there is not rubbing of any sort. I know that some places sell "socks" to cover the wires from the headers.

Also, you will probably save 20-25 pounds by going with the headers over the stock exhaust manifolds. The stock manifolds are very heavy!

Are you going with or without cats? I'm running the high flow cats on mine even though we don't have emissions testing here in Oklahoma.

Let me know your schedule, it would be nice to finally meet you after all these years! :L I'm about 3 hours north of Dallas.

Also, the most important thing:

INSIST THAT THEY USE NEW HEADER BOLTS!!! Jeg's sold me the wrong bolts and I reused the old ones, one of them ended up breaking off in the head, $240 later, it was removed. Get new header bolts!
