I was out taking pictures of my car over the weekend and I really started to notice design cues from previous generations of Corvettes. Now, I know GM drew heavily on past generations for design cues, such as the rear hatch being reminicent of Mid-years. The rear end and mirrors are all C5, and the fender flares over the front and rear wheels are definitely straight from the Shark years. What I don't see are a lot of Solid Axle, or C4 influences. The best I can come up with for a Solid Axle influence is the exposed head lights. The C4 influences are a little harder to find, the rake of the windshield is pretty extreme, though maybe not as extreme as the C4.

What design cues have you guys noticed in your C6's that remind you of previous Corvette generations?

Where the top line of the rear fender meets the door, by the handle, it reminds me of the mid years, where it comes to a point.

Also, not that it's vette related, but if you look at the stock grille on a C6, it screams Ferrari 612 (I think 612).

I know what you are talking about Chris. That part always reminded me of C3's, how the body flares out from the window. My old '78's door handles where in that spot, which is probably why it reminds me of a C3. I do see the Mid-year influence though, now that you mention it.

I can see the resemblance. The headlights are similar too.
