My just purchased '05 coupe has Goodyear F1 GS-2 (per the sidewall) tires.

Are these the 'next generation' run flats that began on the C6? The ones with the 'softer riding sidewall?

TireRack shows the same OE tire selection (Supercar or GS) for both '04 and '05. They don't show one called GS-2.

What do you all have on your coupes?

Thanks for the help !!

:)

I've got the same, Eagle F1 GS-2s. I just bought mine new as well (2 weeks ago), so I guess we both have 05s that were built relatively late in the production cylce.

HI there,
Simply give them the TPC spec number that is on the side of the tire.
This will assure that you obtain the correct tire for your car.
And yes, all EMT tires on c6 are 'next generation'
Allthebest, c4c5

The C5 and C6s have different size tires - so the 04 and 05 are different by definition. I consider the C6 EMTs to be a noticably better riding tire than the C5 EMT. I couldn't wait for the C5 tires to wear out so I could replace them with Michelin ZPs. I just replaced my C6 Supercars with the GS standard tire - love em.

I don't know if current generation C5 (I assume that's what you have) EMTs are better riding than the older ones, or it's the nature of the beast. There are a lot of choices for C5s: Michelin, Firestone, Bridgestone, etc. I don't know which is now considered best of the bunch. For the C6, it's easier. Goodyear makes the only runflat. Sorry - not much help.
