C6 front plate warning ticket

Glad to hear somebody in Texas is trying to get the government to change the law. Does anybody know of a similar effort in Illinois? There's a little gathering of enthusiasts downstate this weekend, and would be a great time to pick up several thousand signatures to a petition, if there's one circulating.

Here's the path to the party in case anyone is interested: http://www.mamotorworks.com/funfest/fests.html

Plates

What will the convicts in prison do if we cut their production in half?:) I live in IL & haven't been hassled yet. I know several cops who run without plates, but then again their cops.:L I think we need to write our congress men and get the ball rolling on this one.

Corvette central sells a front plate holder that bolts in using existing bolts for $54.00 and its a good solid piece. It also adjustable and moves the license plate higher or lower to your preference.

I think they have a removable kind for the c6 and zo6 too.

Sometime back I got stopped for no front plate, when I was living in Ohio. I had seen lots of cars without, so I took mine off, but in retrospect, they may have been passing through from neighboring states. I got a ticket, which the judge upheld, even though the copcar had no front plate. *&#%$* farcical legal system...

Living in a two-tag state, I broke down and bought the removeable bracket from www.topflightrepro.com. Best one on the market and one of the best vendors out there for product service. Here's how it looks on the car:

When removed, you cannot see the support bracket unless you get down on your hands and knees.

That looks better than most. A nice tight fit. Any indication of paint damage due to rubbing to the upper/lower painted surfaces yet?

None at all. TopFlight Reproductions provides soft rubber insulation strips, top and bottom, for attaching to the rear of your tag to prevent any rubbing.
