1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
So yesterday and today I was in the showroom mulling over a purchasing a new C6,This would be an upgrade from a current 2002 with under 9000 mile on it.

Anyways the paint quaility seemed to slip compared to C5'S,it has allot of orange peel and visable riples in the finish,Did they change the way they finish these cars?Did they switch products or systems,Am I the only one who has noticed this?

I have lloked at the C6s prior but they were always outside in the sun,Under the flouresent lights in the show room it showed all of the sins in the paint, there were 6-brand new C6'S in the show room never repaired, and a couple of used C5's and the used C5's had a better finish on them. When I do purchase a C6 I would say the first improvement would be to have the paint profetionally sanded and buffed to remove the orange peel

Beware if you have it wet sanded because you can bet the clear coat is not very thick and easily sanded through!:hb It would suck if a part of it would have to be re-cleared. I know they use water based materials now and I think they are inferior and don't hold up as well.:(

I just keep using Zaino and the car is white so it doesn't show that much..

another reason to wait for the '06...when will '06 features/specs/prices be announced anyway?

I have waited long enough even got hit with another price increase

$265 a few days before my car was invoiced. The Corvette I have now has plenty of get up and go power, torque besides you will only pay more if you wait and may not like the changes that happen.
