Amen, brother!

If sites like this did not exist, I probably would not have been comfortable buying a Vette. I owned a steady string of Hondas and Toyotas that never asked for more than gas and oil. So Vette ownership was a scary proposition!

The folks who share their knowledge can really make a difference.

Those wheels look great on your '85. Of course I may be a little partial as I have the same wheels on my '89! I replaced the C5 stickers on mine with some C4 decals from this seller on Ebay, and they look even better!

The quality is outstanding, and they really add to the look of the wheel. Some of my friends with newer wheels on their C4's liked them so much, they got some too for theirs.

Sorry to hear about your other probs, the joys of owning one though I guess, mine has had it's fair share of problems too, but thanks to this site and my mechanic brother, It's always fixed in a hurry!

Another C-4 w/C-5 wheels

I was wondering when somebody with this swap would post. Those center caps are perfect and of course now, I "need" them.
I have to say plastic, your taste in wheels/cars is superior - I'm not partial or anything having made the exact car/wheel choice myself.

Do you have adapters/spacers behind your wheels?

Foy,
My wheels are aftermarket, the previous owner said they were Y2K brand, so I do not have adapters. Also mine are 17" all around. I do have a friend with an '85 that has C5 wheels on his, 17" & 18" and he has adapters. I saw the car right when he put them on and they sat in way too far.

spacers

I actually have 1/4 inch spacers on the back because they were touching the mufflers. Even with the spacers you could barely slip a piece of paper between the tire and mufflers.

jrzvette,
Are there pics here of your '69? I really dig 68-69 - I had a memorable experience in an extremely strong running '69 350 4 speed when I was 15. My best friend's older brother's friend took me for a ride in his convertible and it turned out to be something of a religious <sp> experience for me. The throttle response in that car defied all laws of nature. I simply could not believe a small block could pull that strong. The transmission whine in my Doug Nash reminds me of the sound his tranny made.

Sorry, I don't have any pics that I can post. But, not to belittle the car, it's just a basic small block red 69 coupe. Nothing very special or unique about it.

Well, my next vette will hopfully be a basic small block (or big block) C-3.

Have a good day,
