By the way what ever happened to this idea that the C6 will only be around for a few years (2 I think).
I read some where that these corvettes are to be special because of it’s short production run.
any one else seen this?

I also remember reading that there will be an appearance change a year or two into C6 production. Doesn't make any sense to me, unless they already expect for it to be a styling disapointment. You never know, it could happen (something like the BMW 7 series fiasco), but I don't think it will.

I think it's already in the works.

That was only to "fix" the styling changes Bob Lutz wanted if they could not do it in time for 2005. I think that no longer applies.

Yeah, I bet the C6, when made, will be around for more than a couple of years. If I remember right, though, the XLR is the one that will be changing in the relatively near future because of better ways to make the body panels for that thing. I'll find it somewhere...

I thought the new, improved "ways to make the body panels" starts with the C6. I thought the XLR was going to move to metal pannels in two years because GM has figured out a way to mount both metal and plastic to the same chassis. But they couldn't have the metal pannels ready in time for introduction. Cad doesn't want plastic because SLs, Lexi and XK8s are metal bodied.

Can't recall where I read this.

What C6? All I see is a new C5.

I think you are missing quite a bit. But you aren't alone. Most people on this forum are looking at the AW photoshop with the long snout and reacting the way you are. Lutz, Hill and the design engineer (brain cramp - can't think of his name) have stated on more than one occasion that the C6 will have reduced front and rear overhang. The AW photshop font overhang may be longer than the C5 - not going to happen. Not the C6.

Save the Beta pics to disc and blow them up, lighten them and you will see some of the C5 / C6 differences. Please note that those front and rear bras are heavily loaded with foam purposely shaped to resemble the C5. The longer I looked at the shots, the more details I found. However, unless you lived in Smallville when the metor hit, neither you nor any of us - including Auto Week, knows what the front or rear facia really looks like.
