C7 Rough Idle

Have a C7 coupe, 7 speed. I have noticed it has a significant rough idle issue. Was wondering if any one else has had the problem?

I'm told the LT4 has a noticable camshaft lope. It may be the nature of the beast. The C6Z has a cam lope too - I loved it.

Since it's brand new take it in and have it checked out.

If you are used to an automatic transmission vehicle, then yes the slight vibration at idle is normal. Enjoy your new C7.

Yo Catbert...either you got ahold of a crystal ball or maybe one too many beers. The "new" LT4 won't be out for a year and the old LT4 would typically not be found in a C7.


As for the LT1, I agree that it might have a tiny bit of an idle misfire but not a "significant rough idle."

If the miss is shaking the car or is a consistent misfire from one or more cylinders, I'd take the car in and have GM warranty it.

Thanks for the input. My last two vettes were 6 speed, so I am used to a slight roughness. This is much more pronounced. I do plan to take it to the dealer. I appreciate your thoughts on the subject. By the way, I love the car. It's better than I expected.

If there is a misfire then there will be a code set, or at a minimum data stored in the PCM that supports a misfire issue and your local dealer should be able to diagnose it. Good luck with it.
