I want to buy one of these but I want to make sure it not only stops the dash light from coming on, but also the shift diversion from 1st to 2nd gear to 1st to 4th, right?

I saw in MidAmerica that it just shuts down the actual shift diversion and not the dash light.

Suggestions?

The $20 plug will not disable the dash light. It's worth the money for the added driving pleasure. I only see the dash light if I'm looking for it, and that's on both cars.

How hard is it to install?

Thanks for the input.

The only hard part is getting under the car. I had to use a jack and stands. You simply disconnect the plug at the transmission, put a supplied plug in the open ends from the disconnection, and tie it up with a plastic tie. It really is pretty simple. It's just as Nike says, 'Just do it!'.

If you have a set of Rhino ramps it's about a 2 minute install. Back the car up on the ramps (remember the tranny is in the rear) and look for the plug on the wire going to the tranny. Simply insert as DRTH VTR said. The kit will come instructions and a tie wrap.

Here is a link to a thread where a forum member installed her own CAGS eliminator and documented it for all to see. Unfortunately the pics seem to not be included, but you can get a general idea of what it entails.

this is a great mod...totally worth the small price.

the fact that light continues to come on is cool with me...it reminds me why i installed the mod in the first place.

good luck.

I put mine in last month. Pretty soon you don't even notice the light on the dash. And shifting is as smooth as it should be. Well worth the $$. :Steer

save your money.
go to radio sheack and buy a 2 ohm resistor and solder it in the connector then use wire ties to keep the plugs tight and in place. itll cost you $1 and it will do the same thing as the cags skip shift will
