Can anyone tell me about the California Water Blade. Where did you buy it? Haven't seen one in the Boston area yet.

Thanks.

Elaine, I bought the water blade last year and loved it - UNTIL some dust/dirt that I didn't see came between the blade and the car. It left some very small scratches. I was able to buff out the scratches but since then, I don't use it anymore on the 82. Now I use a synthetic chamois you can buy at Walmart. It comes in a tube holds something like 10 times it's weight. I think it's called the Absorber. I was warned about using the blade but bought it anyway. I'm sure folks love it - this is just my experience. If you really want one, you can have mine. I'll bring it Sunday.

I got mine from Ecklers. I believe Mid America carries it too.

To prevent the situation Guy described, I wipe the blade after every swipe, just to make sure. As of yet, no scratches.

I did too, Jason and loved this thing for a few months but then something got under there. Maybe I just wasn't carefull enough. I'm giving Elaine mine since I'll see her Sunday at a local show.

Based upon Guy's experience, you can be sure I'll be even more careful!

I agree with 82 Guy , I bought my absorber about 3 years ago and it works better than anything I've tried yet and you can wash it with soap and water. You put it back in its container while its damp and it stays nice and pliable.(sp)

I got some scratches frm the California Water Blade, too. I now use clean white cotton towels to dry after hand washing. I don't know what approach is best. They all have one draw-back or another. I have not found a perfect answer yet. My car is a daily driver with 70,000 miles, so it is not a show queen. I bought mine to drive it, so I live with the minor blemishes.
