Wade Tolman and Clair Bowman of Idaho recently attended a one day private class at Spring Mountain. While they were at Spring Mountain Pete Callaway delivered their much anticipated and newly modified Callaways. They flew into Las Vegas commercial but drove home to Idaho in first class accommodations.

When Pete Callaway returned to The Southern California Callaway shop he took one of Spring Mountains 2007 C6 school cars and will return it shortly with some very special modifications

Callaway Supercharged 560 bhp Package w/ C16 Hood, with enhanced cooling system developments.
Callaway Stoptech Le Mans Carbon Ceramic Brake Package (355mm)
Callaway Eibach Multi-Pro Coil-over Suspension
Callaway Dymag Carbon Fiber/Magnesium Wheel Pkg to fit Goodyear availability.
Callaway Sport Seats

The new Spring Mountain Callaway will be available for all Level 1 and Level 2 students to drive.

Janet, that is sweet that the one fella who asked for info here, bought a Callaway SC Corvette and had it delivered right to Spring Mountain! :cool

That is also cool that there will soon be a Callaway SC 560 car avail. for students at Spring Mountain to drive! Will the car be avail. as a rotation car, or like the C6 Z06. can you pay a little more to solely drive the Callaway?

What a great deal for Callaway owners who want to experience their cars on the track, but because of logistics/time, etc., cannot. Fly in, drive YOUR Callaway!:upthumbs

The Callaway will be in regular rotation. The Z06s are also in rotation with everyone having the opportunity. You can purchase exclusive use of the Z06 for your class, but that option will NOT be available for the Callaway.

Can't wait to get there!

This is something being considered :cool

Aside from yourself, I wonder how many other Callaway Owners would be interested in something like this?

Maybe a one day or two day class - I have been to Spring Mtn. and can honestly say it is an amazing program! It will get you in tune with your driving-self and you will pick up on the right way to go fast! :beer

Janet does your Callaway have the special cooling options Callaway reccomends for track cars? i.e. Radiator, oil and Diff cooler?

Yes, the SM Callaway does have enhanced cooling systems. I will check with Pete Callaway to find out exactly what systems he installed on the SM Callaway.

Hello Everyone,
The 07 Supercharged 560 at SM does not have any of our upgraded cooling equipment. It still retains the OE end tank coolers (engine oil and transmission fluid). The car was built on a Z51 platform, and we've been evaluating temps vs. running conditions... For the length of sessions that the car normally sees, temperatures have not been a problem. Now that it is getting HOTT in Pahrump, we will have a chance to collect more data. We try to run the school car as close to our street configuration as possible, as one of its purposes is accelerated durability testing. We could certainly install larger coolers, but there hasn't been a need to yet...

We are about to switch to an 08 LS3 for the Callaway SM car... This car will have an air-oil engine oil cooler from the factory as all 08 Z51 MN6 cars do. It is a mini version of the LS7 cooler element.
We have found that putting an LS7 full-width element in place with the OE Z51 lines (thermostatically controlled) is a decent upgrade for a street car that gets driven at the occasional track day.
We have also been testing a full-flow air-oil engine oil cooler using hi temp polymer -10 lines feeding a much higher volume custom cooler element from Setrab. We do not currently offer this as a "bolt-on" upgrade, but plan to spec a package soon.
We have not decided which pkg the next SM car will get.

We have a bit of experience with cooling on all fronts with the GT3 Z06R program. We plan to introduce a "track-pack" series of products that will be well suited for track-day street cars to prepared race cars... Coolant, tranny, and diff cooling options to be defined during this process.
But for the occasional track day on street tires, if not blistering hot, the OE Z51 cooling seems to be sufficient...

See you out there!
Pete
