I wanted to know what the difference between the CR1 475 and CR1 490 is if anybody can help. I thought that I would start a new post as not to stomp on someone else’s. Feel free to stomp away. Thanks for any info.

:)

475vs490

The addition of Callaway's header/cat system brought the 475 to 490HP.The header /cat was not designed yet when the 475 package was released.Next question?:t

Thanks and yes I have talked to bob about that car and I don’t know why it says suspension because it is stock and nothing done to the brakes either. The car was sent on 11/93 and done 1/94. I do not know if it makes any difference on value but I guess it would be more so if it was sent by the dealer or at least when new. My other question is what do they do to the motor? Port & polish intake, runners, map and heads? Thanks for all the info.:)

Engine Mods

Early 475's were top end only.Intake runners opened up & polished, stock cams blueprinted, extensive head work, valvetrain strengthened ,free flowing exhaust & special Callaway computer chip.Result-475HP
Later 475/490(Call Joanne) engines received the above & lightweight rods & pistons which did not add HP but reduced rotating mass.Hope this helps.:D

I sent an email to Joanne the first time and she said she had no info on the car so I talked to bob and he gave me the invoice amount dates and invoice #. I emailed Joanne again and have had no response. I have not pursued it any further because I do not want to spend 40K on it. I know there will be better buys out there just have to be patient. Thanks for the info.

I think with the Supernatural program, it would make little to no significant difference on price as VERY few or the C6's were shipped right from the dealers directly to Callaway w/out seeing road use.

I recently got a packet of paperwork that showed a Callaway window sticker w/ the options listed and showed the dealer in TX. but shipped new to CT :cool I bought the car not having that paper in hand and it didn't affect the deal.

Hope this helps...

I was thinking this car would not have the Later 475/490 engine which received the above & lightweight rods & pistons but this car was done late 93 early 94 so I would think it would have the update. Still not enough power for that money.
Thanks again for all the info.:)

Hey Surf, Is it a coupe that I am think of? I am still thinking about that 88 TT aero Vert with 10K miles for $30K but I like the newer style dash 90 up. I never seen the interior on the one on eBay that I was bidding on but for $18K that was not a bad deal but I did not know he was going to sell before the end of auction. Oh well there will be more.
