I've been trying to swap my L98 for a LS5 or a 454 for a while, got a hold of a LS5(currently cleaning it) and was curious if anybody knows off hand if it can fit in a C4? I'm not so concerned about the AC because I intend not installing one

Generally, a Big-Block V8 will fit in a C4, but it's not a bolt-in job.

Bolt in as in: custom motor mounts, finding room, possibly eliminating power steering, weight distribution and rear end?

Just off the top of your head will a 700r4 hold up the hp a LS5 puts out? I have no intention of adding bolt ons to the motor, just a slick hot rod.

STupid question :confusedAnd if the 454 does fit, is there a company that makes mini rams/intake runners? instead of the carb?

I think you misread my post. I said it will not bolt in. Some frame mods are necessary, a modified or aftermarket hood is usually necessary. I think the stock mounts will work and you probably can keep the power steering. It will change weight distribution.

No.

A C4 with a stock LS5 will easily be beaten by some of the C4s with modified 350s that are out there. If you want a BBC C4 with any street creds, you're going to need to look beyond a stock LS5.

There are a couple of sources for Big-Block EFI systems, one being Edlbrock.

GM built two big-block powered C4s, the second one was covered in media many times in the 90s. Search the internet for "Big-Doggie Corvette" and you'll probably find a lot of info. Over they years, I've heard of several C4 BBC conversions done by owners.
