Tilt or Telly to clear one's belly (tubby or not tubby, -that be the question)...?

Dave: -presuming you wish your steering-column to Tilt-up higher passed the straight-line position (not Telescope closer to you), I can assure you this is a pretty involved task. Inside your aftward steering-shaft are two opposed Y-shaped yokes which converge upon a central-ball element (essentially a constant-velosity joint), and I believe there is a "bumper"-member which cooperates with this mechanism to limit upward/pivot-travel. Perhaps you can look at a dismembered GM/tilt-mechanism at your local bone-yard (here in So.Calif. we have Ecology-autowreckers, --who don't much care if you tear-apart something like that to obtain a particular part you need to replace for example), and see just what is in there that is acting as an upward-tilt limit device! --That's about the best I have to offer my friend; --maybe someone else is more familar with the specific component you are seeking to modify to obtain an extra click-up (or quiry an aftermarket perveyer of T&T-steering units for Rods such as: " http://www.flaming-river.com/tilt.htm " )... ~Bob vH
