It depends on what kind of emissions test the State of New Jersey performs, but I suspect it will not.

I would have to guess NO!!!!! I would think that they also do a visual inspection, if they do your BUSTED!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!:w

So how do I get it to pass???
Have a catalytic converter installed.

However, I'd check to see what your inspection stations look for. If they do a visual check and the cat is not there, it will fail. I don't know how vehicles with cats removed can pass smog.

Good luck and enjoy your new ZR1. Let us know what you have had to do to pass smog.

Doesn't NO CATS=FEDERAL OFFENSE ???

btw - what's an inspection anyway? :D

I'm in Toronto, and we have to do emission test every 2 years. I have the cats gutted out on my stroker LT4, they are still present but don't block anything. I test next year so I doubt it will pass too. Anyone have any ideas on how to make it pass?

MY 95 was done at my "Local" private facility. The tires are to wide to fit on the dyno and so they do a 2500RPM test. The standard for HC is 100 mine put out 8. I don't know if that helps, but i would highly recommend keeping them on.
I live just outside Toms River.

With modern cats the power loss is negligible, so why risk it?

No and put cats on. There is no reason not to.
Mike

I passed with out them doing the sniffer test. If you want to see the test #'s let me know.:)
