To the other Ca guys can i get any with muffler eliminators.
I runnning headers with 3 inch colletors I planning to having installed 3 inch Y pipe to a new High Flow 3 way cat.
Or should I run a smaller Y pipe Size 2 3/4 Or 2 1/2 Y pipe the cat inlet is 3 inch.
Dropped down to 2/14 pipe can I get away with muffler eliminators LT-1 tips with out every cop around pulling me over for to much noise.

It is illegal in California for motor vehicle to not have a muffler.

That said, with modern cars, a certain amount of exhaust noise attenuation comes from the cat converters.

Will you get stopped for excessive noise? There is a chance of that, yes, but if you don't make a nuisance of yourself and your loud exhaust, you'll probably keep out of trouble.

What I did was a 3" front Y to the 3" cat...then 3 out into rear Y that went 2.5 to muff-elim.
That sounded great but it was loud while cruising. At first it was 3" all the way and lost a BUNCH of low end torque, so I took the 3" rear Y out and stuck the smaller rear Y in there. Ran better. Later I took the muff elim off and installed a brand name muffler on the 2.5 rear Y and it sounds nice, got the low end back and I'm happy.

3" all the way to rear Y then drop to 2.5 into mufflers.. Add tips of personal preference.

The 2.5 rear Y helps keep enough back-pressure to keep the torque up where it needs to be.
The 3" most of the way aids the header in evacuating the cylinder so the motor revs faster and responds when punched. Instant response. Smaller front pipes made it sluggish.:w
