hi all, I have drooled over all the cars here with the new torque thrust wheels. I am deciding which ones to put on the 69 convt. I just bought. 1970 Stingray has some 16's on his car, and I think they really look great. I know some of you have 17's, so I'd like to compare. if anyone has pictures, can they post them? this will help me decide. I don't want wheels that look too big. the 16's look ideal, but maybe the 17's with lower profile tires would look great too.

How about a "before" picture of your new car?

not here yet, being shipped. but as soon as it arrive, i'll post some! can't wait!

I love the '69 'verts! Well, most any of the early chrome bumper C3's 'verts.
I was at a Vette dealer yesterday checking out a car for a fellow forum member and they had a beautiful '69 'vert with factory sidepipes, Auto, PS, PB, PW, A/C, leather, fully documented, 62,000 mile car from the original owner!
Now, I LOVE my '65 C2 (and plan on keeping it until I die) but when I was searching for a car I was originally looking for a chrome bumper C3. When I saw this '69 yesterday I actually wondered how much of a deal I could get on my '65 plus cash in trade for the '69. If it had been in my favorite early C3 color (Steel Cities Gray) my '65 REALLY would have been in peril. ;)

Oh well, I'm keeping my C2 and hopefully will be able to add the C3 to the garage next to her some time in the future.

Congrats on your new car and best of luck with her.
Can't wait to see pics when she arrives

out of curiosity, how much did they want for it? I paid $20k for mine, which seems like a pretty fair deal. It needs some details, like the pedal pads are missing, door lock knobs, etc. I already ordered those from Year One, and the total was $60.00, that included the chrome pedal trim. I have only seen pictures of the car, and the paint looks decent, top looks really nice. Lots of pictures of the motor, although it is a matching #'s car, he had the motor stroked to 383, and it has about 1000 miles since. they painted the engine blue, so this winter it will come out for a correct detail. It doesn't have to look show original, but it should at least be the right color in my opinion. I'll ditch the chrome valve covers, and get the correct finned aluminum ones. the wheels totally suck, so some 17" TT's will be on order next week. It doesn't have to be a show car, I want a nice driver, matching #'s, and I am totally ok with "Not Correctly Restored Stingray" status. I think that's cool! #'s matching car, with personal touches to make it stand out. I love the factory side pipes. the car was originally black, now it's bridgehampton blue, and looks nice. I'll get some pics as soon as it gets here, but just don't laugh at the gay wheels.
