OK, I did the research and I know what the code means. This is from the Powertrain Control Module and the code is described as AIR System Bank 2, but what is causing the code and what is AIR an acronym for? Is this going to hurt my car? As I was driving to work this morning my check engine light came on which prompted me to check codes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i maybe wrong but i believe that tells you that you have a problem in the air injection pump system to your exhaust manifolds.

Thanks for the reply Motorman. Are you familiar with this problem? What can I do to check it and verify the problem?

Per C4/C5 Specialist in another thread:
"The P1416 is telling you that a valve for the air injection emissions system is rusted shut, setting this code. You will have to remove the intake manifold to get to it, and it will take about 2 hours to do. This will repair it."

Hope this helps.

This helps a lot. Thanks for the quick replies. Atleast I know what I'm doing on my days off this week.

You might as well do both of them as long as you are doing it. Might save some trouble doing the other one at a later date.

Wise words. Has anyone ever done this? Is there anything I should look out for? I'd like to be as prepared as possible. So am I going to WD40 the parts to break apart the rust? Any info would be a big help.

HI there,
1" and 3/4 combination wrenches would be needed.
Try to find a better pentrant then Wd40, and let the check valves sit with it as long as it practical for you.
Make sure you have alot of leverage, it will be very tough getting that valve off the back of the engine.
Recoat the threads of the valve with synthetic oil before you install. That would make it much easier to change them again if you have to.
