Cannot hear my fan kick in??

Hi

Right now my engine temperature is fine, but sometimes when it climbs to around 240degree's in stop and go traffic shouldn't l hear the fan go on. Or is it real quiet?

By the time my temperature climbs to 240 degree's l'm on the go again, and the temp falls to around 198 degree's.

How can l find out if my fan is working?

The fan won't alway be loud enough that you'd be able to hear it come on and go off. Most of the time you will never hear it.
