Ok what am i doing wrong.
I bought a spare key fob from a local GM dealer and thought I could just follow the direction in the owners manual to program this "3rd" fob
As in the owners manual the car is off and I have on my person a known (programmed) key fob.
I insert the standard key into the lock at the hatch..open the hatch (I tried both just letting the hatch pop up a little and opening the hatch all the way ...
I turn the key in the lock 5 times with in 5 seconds...
Now at this point the DIC should say something to the effect ready to program Fob...
No go. I get nothing on the DIC. I tried having both original programmed key fobs on me no go.
I tried the method of not having any key fobs (as the manual states to plce the unrecogonized fob into the slot annd the turn the key 5 times...nothing on the DIC.
Is the DIC suppose to give the ready message even with the car off and acc off?
What should I try.
How should I open th ehatch-with the key and does that count as one turn of the key?
Could it be that the new fob I bought at the chevy dealer is bad? I checked and it does have a battery in t with a date on the plastic bag it came in of March 2006. Does the vet have to detect an unrecognized fob in the immediate area?
thanks
