Well I got the manifold bolted on and all the necessary plumbing.

As I was about start tuning the idle, vacuum etc the car just died.

I tried to pump the gas just to hear the engine roar and it hesitated and then started to die. I did it again and that was it, no more:cry

I could not figure out why all of a sudden it would just die on me. I checked the fuel level through the sight plugs and there was adequete fuel in there. When I tried to pump the gas the jets would not spray as before:confused.

Tried to crank but the battery was going so I am going to charge it tommorow and give it another try.

Any ideas?:confused

p.s. its a holley avenger 670 thanx for any help

Check your fuel filters for starters as they are often over looked.

Your timing may be a mile off, or you have a massive open vacuum port==ie for the power brakes, or PCV valve.

I checked the timing and everything was ok. As far as the vacuum plugs everything was hooked up PVC, Timing Advance, brake booster.

Before it shut off I checked the vacuum and it was reading 15" which is what I was getting before and the needle was steady.

You just did the manifold... no cam right?

AND

If you squirt fuel down the carb... does it light off?

Might want to check if the fuel pump is actually pumping.
