I don't know where this belongs...so I'll let a moderators decide. If you are showing a car at one of the local Corvette shows...is it better to have the floor mats in the car or just show the carpet with the word CORVETTE stamped on the plastic piece under the pedals showing?

It depends what kind of show. If it is a fun show leave the mats in. If it is a Concourse, they will deduct points for anything in the car besides owners manual and roof ratchet. Good luck, Guy

Let's stick it in "Care & Detailing" for now and see if the response picks up. If you wanna move it again just let me know Jon. ;)

Advanced? Ken , just wondering about the space man coming out the eye on your aviator. I know it must mean somthing. I just don't know what.;shrug

Oh-oh! Comments on the avatar again... Gotta do something about that I guess. ;)

If the mats look good, leave them in the car EXCEPT as indicated by concours judging.

The car shows I've attended it's 50-50 for other cars.

I leave mine in most of the time but my car is still fairly new.

Most of the time there is a drivers meeting before the judging and they let you know about the floor mats. The NCCC shows are the best. Its windows up,removable tops on , or convertible tops on. Trunks open, and gas doors. Stand by your car but stay out of the way.:beer

Definitely depends on the caliber of the show. We have several small shows in my area, and for those informal shows I have embroidered floor mats that I place in the car. They are embroidered with the 40th Anniversary logo and are never used other than for display purposes.

For a higher caliber show, all mats must be removed. The idea is, if you are keeping your mats in the car, what are you hiding? Worn or stained carpeting? At least that is what the judges will think. :v

Alan and I participate in most of the New England shows that are defined as Corvettes-only, judged "show & shine" shows. That means that there are only Corvettes, that the Corvettes are broken down into classes so you are competing against similar cars, also broken down into coupes and convertibles, and the judges grade you on multiple items, but everything is based primarily on cleanliness and secondly on condition. Standard rules here in New England for these types of shows are:

Windows up
Tops on or up
Everything (and I mean everything!) out of the car
Stay with your car but do not talk to judges at all nor will they speak to you except to ask you to open the doors.

On less formal shows, I think you can leave the mats in!
