Hello, first let me say this is a great site. well I have had my Vette 1 week now and have just been driving and enjoying it, but this morning coming to work I slowed down to 10 mph for a bump then punched the gas and the vette started bucking and losing power, backed off and it smoothed out . I am going to look at it tonight. thanks for any help.

Crow..... if it's an auto it smells like a vacuum leak. Check the lines to the carb and the "Tee's" in the lines where this split off.

I checked the vacuum lines every thing looked fine, but the PCV did not rattle, also it looks like someone changed the points to eletronic ing. I thought 73 had points.
Thanks Crow

73's had points. Has only your points & condensor been replaced w/electronic pickup while using the smaller earlier point-style distributor ... or ... has the distributor been swapped for the larger later GM HEI electronic distributor (this distributor has the ignition COIL inside the distributor cap)? If you have the GM HEI, consider replacing the ignition module (cheap at local parts house) inside the GM HEI distributor ... they do go bad ... some failure modes mimic your symptom.

Original distributor for 73 has a mechanical-cable drive at dist base to drive the mechanical tachometer (drive looks like a speedo cable).
