carb to manifold

hello. how tight do the carb to manifold bolts go? i was hopeing to get it running this weekend but i had to order air injection check valves. now im just going back over it. does anybody know how to test these valves? one flows in one direction and the other does not flow at all. thanks

Carb to manifold bolts are 12 Ft Lbs.

The AIR check valves flow in one direction only. They flow towards the exhaust manifold. One that doesn't flow at all is faulty.
