Carlisle looks like the show of shows! Is there anything of that magnitude or close in mid America or out West?

Mid America? The second largest show is Bloomington Gold, in St Charles Il, about an hour west of Chicago. But it is held in June.

Although it hasn't achieved fame among East Coast folks that Carlisle has, Vettes on the Rockies is an extremely popular and well attended event in Breckenridge/Dillon, Colorado every year the last weekend in July. People from numerous western states trek out to make a long holiday of the event.
