Son (Mark) and I drove our '87 TTC (#027; Convertible; Blk,Blk,Graphite) up to Carlisle from Goldsboro, NC (400 miles one way). We have had this car for one year and have put less than 1,ooo miles on it (before this trip). When we pulled in the drive way we had 26,743 miles on it. We were disappointed there were not more owners of the famed Callaway's representing their cars at the show. We took pics of all of them. Other than the one we bought, these were the first (and subsequent) ones we have ever seen. Enjoyed the show. I have always been a mid-year and C3 guy 'til Mark found our B2K on ebay. This looks to be a great forum for the challenge I face of maintaining one of these cars while trying to pay the rest of the bills.

Hi Jerry & Mark,

Welcome to the Callaway Forum at CAC.

Last year I was able to drive up from south Florida with my 1991 Aerobody Twin Turbo roadster. There were 32 Callaway cars present. :J

This year business circumstances did not allow me the time to drive up (a 3 day trip from down here), but I managed to fly in. Other owners also flew in or did not get to bring their Callaways, some even from Australia.

Considering there were only some 500 twin turbos produced, that some are celebrity owned, exported, are part of non-driven collections, are far out on the west coast, or have been destroyed, I think this is as many Callaways as you might get to gather at one time. Last years gathering was special as Reeves was present. He could not make it this year, but as you might have seen, there was a Callaway booth with Callaway staff.

Should you have parked in Callaway section we would have had 17 cars instead of 16. And this is not counting the C12 & C5 in the Callaway both or the one which was actioned off.

I will suggest a psuedo-Callaway Owners Reunion at Daytona for Ecklers Corvette Reunion for those Callaway Owners who are in the Southeast or could not make it to Carlisle, http://www.ecklers.com/Reunion2003_1.asp? . I know there are at least 3 other twin turbos, 1 SNAT, and a CR1 in my area. I have also approached others at Carlisle who said they may be willing to drive down.

I hope you enjoy your Twin Turbo and that this website becomes a valuable source of information. Please post pictures of your car.

Cheers!

Luigi

Jerry , Glad you enjoyed the show :m My wife mentioned that she saw a black Callaway Corvette drive past the tent & row but didn't stop - Not sure if that was you or not:confused

As Luigi stated, there were 16 Callaway Corvettes parked in the row - There was also an Aerobodied ZR1 behind us in the next row, 6 more Callaways represented by their owners (Circumstances forced them to leave their Callaways at home ;( )
2 Callaway Twin Turbos in the "for sale" areas, another blue aerobody (car, not engine) was spotted as was a red/gray 88 B2K coupe.
Not a bad showing for as few of these that were built and even less still on the road :upthumbs

I am sure you have read in some of the other threads what a great time we all had - Again, sorry we missed you...

Welcome to the :CAC Hope you can make future Callaway events :m
