Don't ask. ;squint:

I'm thinking maybe some Arm and Hammer type carpet cleaner (or some such) and maybe some Febreeze to freshen it afterward - if it's even necessary since the cleaner may well eliminate the need for follow-up odor neutralizer.

I'm concerned about stains and sour milk odor after a toxic spill also known as Sonic Mocha Java Chiller (ice cream, shot of espresso, whipped cream and chocolate syrup). :mad

Suggestions?
Note: the drink carrier suggestion is unnecessary. I was using one. :hb

Get a Bissell Little Green Machine. That thing cleans auto carpets incredibly easy. I've used it in all sorts of auto carpet as well as cloth seats. It does wonders in lifting stains. It keeps the water hot and the hose has a built in brush. There is one tank for clean water and another tank to vacuum out the dirty water.

Next to my factory shop manual, this is probably the best $ I've spent on a car. It's about $110 or so but after a few uses in your car and others, it pays for itself easy.

Edmond, where did you buy the Bissell?

Barrett,

You can get it from pretty much any retailer such as Target or Wal Mart. I got mine from Target. They have another version that seems a little bit bigger, it's called a "Spot something" IIRC. It has a picture of a dog on it.

They have some cleaner that you use with it. The hot water tank has a mark to let you know where to fill the cleaner to and where to fill the water to.

After doing a few cleanings for other people, I made enough cash to pay for the machine. :L It's really great for the residue you get from salt.

Edmond, thanks for the information. Never thought about charging for cleaning carpets in cars. Maybe a new career in my late years.

What I did is not the easiest to do but the carpets ARE clean

I removed ALL carpet even the console sides. I scrubbed then with Purple Power Cleaner and a brush then hit them with the high pressure washer.

Ugly brown stuff was flowing off with the pressure washer.

I let them air dry and now look and feel as close to new as possible.
Just had 1 stain that didn't come out all the way. Still I'm happy with the results.

Try some Adams carpet and upholstery cleaner on the spot you have left. That stuff is amazing.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've cleaned some, really more like hit it with a lick and a promise because I had so much going on this weekend. The weather looks promising here this week and I'm off so I'll put more effort into it then.

I don't plan on pulling the carpet for now... though by next summer I hope to have the seats out being recovered and I'll give the carpets a major clean then.

Thanks again guys!
