I need some reccommendataions on putting new carpet in my convertible. It's time. Question: should I do it myself or should I have it professionally done? I think I have the time and patience. Also, anyone know where there are good instructions on how to do this?
It's a very simple job, requiring only contact cement and a few razor blades for trimming. Use the old carpet as a guide. You'll have to remove the seats. The only "hard" part is the carpet on the 3 "lids", but in 69, the bezels are held by screws, and you can easily remove the backing and slip the new carpet in. Remember, "measure twice, cut once". Don't cut ANYTHING off an edge till you're sure it's fitted correctly. Chuck
