Carpet installation 74 convertible

Hello all,
When I got this car, the old carpet was already removed. I'm getting ready to put new carpet in, but what the heck are these brackets attached the the rear wheel wells for???

welcome to CAC!!! enjoy!!! I don't know what the brackets are for... my guess would be for the top,but I'm not sure..

I believe that's one of the attachment points for the shoulder belt covers.

Well that would make sense! BTW, carpet installation is not an enjoyable task...
