Carpeting Supplier

I am working through a couple of issues with a supplier of carpeting and the middleman seller for my '89. When I re-order, I am thinking of ordering carpets from Mid-America. I have bought lots of stuff from Mid-America, but not their capets, which they seem to especially manufacture themselves rather than simply sell from a separate supplier. Has anyone ordered these carpets? Any problems?

Thanks,

I am going to order carpets soon, this is what I concluded:
The main manufacturer of Corvette carpets is ACC [Auto Custom Carpets], they are accepted as correct restoration by the NCRS.

I'll buy the mass backed, not the other cheaper backing [I think poly ???].

I beleive the most inexpensive vendors of ACC carpeting are Wilcox Corvette suppliers [they sell on Ebay], or 'The Last Detail', Altanta, GA.

About $400 for the complete carpet set.

Well, I would hold off on that order for a little while longer until I let you know how my issues work out with the supplier/middlemen of carpet for my '89. There's a reason I am asking about Mid-America as an alternative supplier, regardless of whether or not it has the holy benediction of the NCRS on carpets.

Well, the problem I was having appears to be solved. The information on carpet/suppliers noted by Wayne 88 agrees with what I found out, too, except for the NCRS part.

Care to eloborate on the NCRS part?? One of the reasons I've been slow to buy interior trim currently supplied is it doesn't seem to be an exact match to OEM. Just curious what others think. Long term will this improve?? :confused

I was simply confirming that I, too, had determined on my own most of the information a gentleman had provided in a response to my original question, except that I hadn't know that Auto Custom Carpeting was approved by the NCRS.

I am trying to document where I saw that ACC carpet is NCRS accepted: I can't find it.
But I came up with vendor 'Al Knoch' of Texas has NCRS approved carpet for $395.
I am sure I read somewhere that ACC is also NCRS approved, but, honestly, I can't find where I read this.
Now, I'm going to do a little more research on it.

Well, I started the thread and went ahead and ordered the carpeting made by MidAmerica yesterday. Since I have also ordered carpeting made by Auto Custom Carpets, who seems to be the supplier for most of the Corvette magazines and Ebay group, I will let people know how the two compare when they come in. Maybe a quick way to answer the NCRS question is to call them? I think they have a phone number.

Thanks,

I ordered my carpet set at Willcox Indiana $389

It is from ACC with mass back and looks good !

when comparing to the OEM it is not a perfect match in details but who cares.
