Cat replacement

Is there anything troublesome or problems I should anticipate replaceing the Cat on an 89?I`m guessing the damn thing is plugged up because its hissing like an angry cat and i`m not get much out of my exhaust. Should I order the hose converter/connector I see in Ecklers and mid america?I am new to Vette wrenching as this is the first problem I have encountered any tips or help will be appreciated.:confused

Take it off, Leave it off. Lovely sound. I replaced mine actually, it was making noises b/c of a few holes in it, i dont think the exhaust was even reaching the mufflers. I had no lift, and no desire to use jacks, i just brought it to the shop to get it fixed.
