CAUTION: Holley Fuel Pumps with a bypass type regulator

All of Holleys Fuel Pumps are NOT compatible with bypass type fuel regulators , i found out last friday. Holley Fuel Pumps incorporate an internal bypass in thier pumps and should be used with only 2 port (inlet/outlet) fuel regulators.

P.S. Thier installation sheet doesnt spell this out. Nor does Summit and Jegs catalogues.

You didnt have any problems did you? Summitts sales people are not very good. When you call make sure you talk to a techrep. I learned the hardway.

Yes, i did have problems and i could not figure it out. I was getting surging/missing at cruising speeds ; fuel starvation. I sent an email to Holley asking them how is one supposed to know that all Holley Pumps are not to be used with bypass type regulators , unless one works for Holley ?! And i strongly suggested that they revise thier instruction sheet that comes with thier Fuel Pumps.
